The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse - St. Louis Area takes an active role in the establishment of and participation in community groups, activities, coalitions, networks, advisory boards, task forces and other local, state and national endeavors that pertain to alcohol and drug abuse issues. We work with many organizations to change laws, ordinances, and even perceptions and attitudes towards alcohol and other drugs. We are currently developing an alert system for issues related to alcohol and drug abuse treatment, recovery and prevention, especially those issues that would require or benefit from political advocacy. Sometimes we might ask you to write a letter to the editor of your local paper, other times we might ask you to email or write your legislator(s).
