Coalition on Addictions

This month’s speaker and topic:
Connie Fisher – Combating Compassion Fatigue

The Coalition on Addictions (COA) is an NCADA program that brings together individuals concerned about addiction. It provides a forum for networking, for learning and advocacy about the use and abuse of alcohol and other drugs, and for discussion of other addictions. Participation is open to anyone interested in the prevention and treatment of addictions.

Lunch is provided free of charge (courtesy of Alkermes, Inc.)

A CEU for one contact hour is available for $5.00. COA is a service of NCADA and the Community Academic Partnership on Addictions. (CAPA is an affiliate organization of Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis.)

Speaker Bio:

Connie FisherConnie Fisher is the Director of Mental Health Promotion for Mental Health America of Eastern Missouri. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 26 years private practice experience.

Connie has presented numerous workshops on a variety of mental health topics including stress management, burnout, compassion fatigue, and resilience.

In addition, Connie has 14 years’ experience as an Adjunct Professor teaching a variety of courses on psychology, social work, and human services and is currently teaching a course at Washington University.
