Film Screening: Written Off: The Short, Sad, Beautiful Life of Matt Edwards

September 28, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

In honor of National Recovery Month, NCADA is presenting the only St. Louis screening of the award-winning documentary Written Off: The Short, Sad, Beautiful Life of Matt Edwards.

This compelling film puts a human face on drug dependency while portraying the powerful story of a young man who struggled for 10 years with the torment and stigma of his addiction to prescription painkillers and heroin.  It’s a must-see for anyone concerned about our country’s opioid crisis.  Last year in the St. Louis area alone, 712 individuals – fathers, sons, mothers, daughters, sisters, brothers, friends – were lost to fatal overdoses.

A panel of local experts will be available to take questions following the 75-minute film.

The screening will be at The Ethical Society of St. Louis, 9001 Clayton Road, St. Louis, MO 63117.

This free event is presented by NCADA and sponsored by The Aviary Recovery Center.

The film is suitable for viewing by adults and mature teens.
