Youth Advocacy

NCADA provides trainings and information to youth groups about the importance of advocacy and how to be strong advocates.

The Elevate Youth Council strives to prevent underage drinking and related substance misuse through awareness, education, and advocacy, and to create strong and healthy communities. Youth develop strong advocacy skills through monthly meetings and workshops.

Speak Hard
NCADA participates in Speak Hard, which is a statewide youth advocacy day held in Jefferson City each March. Young people spend the morning learning about advocacy and substance use prevention. They spend the afternoon at the State Capitol meeting with legislators and sharing information about how substance use impacts their lives and how legislation may prevent alcohol, tobacco, and drug abuse.
